I was concerned but composed when you
betrayed me infinitely,
But you quickly felt the shame and turned
entreating on your knees.
But greater the disgrace when you
betrayed and left my grace,
Putting a deaf ear to all
and covering your face.
You may see no evil,
hear and speak far less,
But you will fail to be among
the Shining and the Blessed.
I love you, I miss you,
You are My Beloved,
Come back to the place
I made for us.
Return to the eternal.
I Miss
The comfort of an old flame in a cold bed,
The way I used to trip and lose my head,
The essence of community on my breath,
How far I stepped, still cheating death,
But I don’t miss
All the pain I did circumvent
When I promised to desist.
catalyst
Flashing gestures with one hand,
Forgot what it takes to truly be a man.
If this is what it takes for me to wake up,
then I’m eyes wide, adrenaline rush.
I remember when I said “Enough is enough!”
then turned my back on all I love.
If you bled for me, should I do the same?
Or accept the gift you freely gave?
My heart is heavy, weighed down by guilt.
But pride props up my iron will.
I give up. I give up! I GIVE UP!
My enough is not enough.
Let me fall back in love.
Better yet let me rise above.
There is but one thing left to overcome…
Conjuring up my melancholy
No that can’t go on.
Certain my sadness was necessary
Oh I’ve been so wrong.
And all that distance that I dispatch won’t ever help me feel less alone.
Stop all that dark and senseless brooding
Sing a different song.
Don’t get dramatic, this ain’t the movies,
Turn the camera off.
Yeah, all that acting seemed fun at first
But I’ve been playing this role for too long.
Spit it from your mouth like a foreign object
Sing it to the world like a drunken prophet
Was singing this all last week

STOP Animal Cruelty Now! Spread the Word.
Keyring ornaments are perhaps the most useless item you’ll ever carry in your pocket or stuff in your purse — but now, thanks to an increasingly popular item being sold in China, it can easily be the cruelest, too. For the price you might expect to pay for some kitschy trinket, Chinese street vendors are selling live animals, permanently sealed in a small plastic pouch where they can survive for a short while as someone’s conversation piece. Apparently, these unimaginably inhumane keyrings are actually quite popular — and worst of all, it’s totally legal.
this is pretty much no better than keeping a goldfish in a bowl, but still yeah. wtf
Thats sick :(
This is fucked up on so many levels, and I can’t help but wonder what you do when you have a key chain that is a pouch of orange water with a dead baby turtle in it….
If I get one shipped to my house, will the turtle be dead by the time it arrives? I’d rather not have a live turtle on my keyring. I feel like it’s inhumane.
Nostalgia is a Killer
I turned 22 recently. A decade ago I was in middle school. 7 years ago I began my first real relationship. 4 years ago I became an adult at least in the eyes of society.
All the songs I listened to through this time remind me of how innocent and happy I was then. The Ataris had it right. Being grown up isn’t half as fun as growing up. I truly miss what I had back then. I felt invincible.
Now I strive to find some semblance of the happiness I possessed then and it is all hollow. I am a different person now. I have grown and become a man. I know who I am and what I need to do. I am facing my own mortality though.
Lately I have just been living, not alive. I walk around like a zombie and do what is expected of me. This has to change. I can’t look back and be nostalgic. It will kill me.
Remember a few weeks back, when Imogen Heap announced that she would write and produce her next album with the help of her fans?
791 sounds and 225 solos later, Imogen is happy to present the first song she’s written with contributions of some of her most loyal fans. For us here at SoundCloud HQ, it was a fantastic experience to watch her nightly video live streams during which she previewed the many sounds you’ve sent her.
So earlier this week, what started known as #heapsong1 turned into a song called Lifeline, which you can listen to below:
This track wouldn’t exist without the sounds from Anna Ponto, Carli D., Ashley Wilson, Jess Jacobs (#1, #2), Melissa Cavileer, Alexandra Borne, Jen Cork, Patricia Islas, Kellyn Goler, Daniel Dols, Robin Beanland, Kristian H, Toby Barnett (#1, #2, #3), Suzi Starlite (#1, #2), Sowick, Arron Pelo, Robert Ponto, RunningRiver, Chris with Alan, Nathan Vollmer, Avangion, Jose Cuevas, Lee Harris, Danny Klingler, Dan Gee, Rouxbarbe, Michael Drebert, Alessandro Pirollo, Tristan Horton, hardroqr, Elizabeth Hentze, Christian Cyfus, Johnathon Henderson, Roo Kidd, Stu Henderson and palcasopatatas.
That’s 40 sounds from 26 different people!
This project is another proof for Imogen always being at the forefront of where technological innovation, creativity and fan engagement meet. Massive kudos to her and her team for pulling this off with such an incredible dedication.
Thanks to Imogen and everyone who participated. This is another beautiful example for what the web can do to form and shape communities. Stories like this one is why we wake up every morning.
Everything about this is amazing and beautiful.
